The 23rd annual Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure colored downtown West Palm Beach pink today as thousands gather to raise money for breast cancer research.
An estimated 15,000 survivors and their supporters participated in last year’s event. Participants walk and run along Flagler Drive to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.
This years winner…Erica Lazarus, a 35 year old school teacher at Benjamin School in Jupiter, won the 3.1-mile race along windswept Flagler Drive in 19 minutes, 27.30 seconds.
